Frequently Asked Questions
If you are not familiar with the benefits of epoxy flooring, we have answers.
We offer a 10-year warranty for normal home use and wear and tear. The warranty does not cover damage caused by acetone, battery acid, or damage caused by dragging heavy objects across the surface such as a heavy freezer or shelving unit. If any of these happen they can generally be repaired but won’t be covered under warranty.
When wet it can be as slippery as almost any other surface, but the full flake coverage system does offer better traction than just the concrete floor or a smooth epoxy finish. We can also add some anti-slip aluminum oxide to the final coat so that there is an added slip resistance.
No, it will not. Concrete is prone to getting cracks as you may have seen in your garage already. Getting an epoxy floor can fix all existing cracks but won’t prevent any new ones or old ones from possibly coming back, depending on how big they were. The concrete in most established homes, once the floor is done and the cracks repaired, they typically don’t have any issues.
The main difference is those “kits” are a water-based product and is essentially an epoxy paint that goes down at room temperature. We use a commercial grade 100% solid epoxy that gets mixed at site and goes down extremely hot. The other main difference is in the prep work, we grind every inch of your floor, this insures a superior bond and adhesion.
